North Korea doesn't seem like giving up its troublesome attitude. This last scandal has of course been condemned by the UN, the US, South Korea, China, all the players that never test their military capabilities and show of force (sarcastic grim).
Tensions are running high in the area once again after North Korea test fired Five Short-ranged missles in a three days period off it's coast in the sea of Japan. It is a show of military capabilities that has annoyed all of their neighbours and got everyone on their toes, once again.
In all fairness, South Korea and the US have naval and land drills all the time in the area and nobody ever makes a big deal out of it. And when sanctions are imposed on a country, isn't it a clear declaration of war? If a country cannot import and export the necessary to support it's populations and the population starts dying off, isn't that a declaration of war? I would say it is and i would also say North Korea isn't doing anything that it wasn't done to her and that her neighbours haven't also done. Testing missles, various military training operations etc. In all probability, this missle testing is actualy a response to a joint South Korea - US military drill earlier this month.
Apparently China also got involved, of course. It is saying that North Korea has captured a fishing boat and the Chinese authorities want it released. The truth is that China is under enormous pressure at home to ensure the safety of it's people at sea. This is often a cause of problems and concern because there have been a few cases over the past year where sea-men claimed to have been captured by the North Korean authorities, beaten and whatnot.
North Korea has been ignoring the West for some time now. No matter what the West has used to threaten and intimidate North Korea's president - Mr. Kim Jong - he doesn't seem to be intimidated and doesn't seem to be willing to take a diplomatic route to resolve the problems that exist. Maybe Mr. Kim knows that NATO never resolves problems unless the resolution is 100% to their liking. The other country/ies on the diplomatic table with NATO are not there to conversate, they are there to listen, so maybe Mr. Kim is just trying to save some time by not going to talk to those who wish to impose things and rule him and his people.
Personaly, i have a certain level of respect for Mr. Kim not bowing down to his would be oppresors. Gotta love the underdog!
