The Zimmerman trial. I want to say my opinion on this trial...
First of all, i had no idea about this whole situation, and apart from 2-3 Bubblews articles i ran into recently that talked about it, that's all i knew... I would have never even found out about it if it waren't for Bubblews, since i don't watch TV, i'm not in the US...
So anyway, yesterday i decided to look into it a little, and i watched a couple of clips on Youtube, then i watched a couple of hours of clips from the trial and stuff, and i think i understand what happened now.
So Zimmerman sort of like a vigilante, saw a black guy walking down the street, thought the black guy looked suspicious, and so he called the police and started following the black guy who was called Trayvon Martin.
Eventualy Trayvon Martin ran away, Zimmerman pursued him, or pursued him until the officer on the phone told him to stop pursuing, because Zimmerman was on the phone with the police the entire time. So eventualy Zimmerman and Trayvon got into a conflict, and Trayvon was beating Zimmerman up, slamming his head on the concrete and stuff, so Zimmerman took out a pistol and shot Trayvon, once, and he hit the heart...
That's what happened, the shortest version...
Now, i don't really know how to feel about it. I mean, my first reaction was what is it to Zimmerman who does what? Why was he following Trayvon anyway? I mean, if somebody was following me in the middle of the night, and i was alone, the fight or flight instinct may kick-in, maybe that person wants to rob me or attack me or God knows what...
And at this point i was thinking that Zimmerman is guilty 100%, and was wondering how did they manage to aquit him and let him go... Then after a while i was listening to the defence lawyer, and saw the pictures, and apparently Trayvon was beating Zimmerman up, so Zimmerman shot him in self-defence... And that is understandable.
So at the end of the day, Trayvon was probably beating Zimmerman in self-defence, because Zimmerman was following him in the middle of the night. And then Zimmerman shot Trayvon in self-defence, because he was being beat up and who knows when Trayvon would have stopped beating him. It's either your life or my life, i guess, survival...
It's a gray area. Zimmerman is definitely not guilty, nor innocent. I'm glad i wasn't a part of that jury, i would have probably called in dead hehehe
ps. That bold defence lawyer for Zimmerman is seriously good, the one in the picture. I wish he was my lawyer :D
