Just to be clear, i don't consider myself to be a freelance writer. Im not particularly good at writing. I don't have Ph.D's and Masters and University and College Degrees. No experience at writing for magazines or newspapers or anything like that. Im just your regular Joe. :)
But still, im trying to make some money online and content is king, or so i've heard.
A month ago i had written an article on iWriters just to test the website and to test myself. Because writing for revenue sharing sites is one thing. Writing for a "client" is another thing. So my article passed the website's review for the originality and the client had accepted my article giving me a 5star rating.
Wow, i was amazed and ecstatic at this point. So i decided to write 1 article per week. That's 4 per month. I know it's sounds like very little, but i didn't do it. I can't explain why, i just didn't do it. From time to time i go on the website, see what's available to pick from the pool, but i never do.
Anyway, yesterday i was going through some folders on my computer and i came across my article, the one i had written and sold, basicaly. So i decided to go look it up to see if i can find it on the internet.
I found it after a google search. It was slightly changed, but it was basicaly my own article. It's there on a website which has advertisments and at the beggining and the end of the article there are affiliate links for "how to cure" the thing i wrote about.
It's a nice feeling. It's like, if somebody found my article of a good enough quality to approve, give me a 5 star rating and post it on their website where they make money from ads and commission from sales. Why can't i do it myself?
So while it's a nice feeling. I believe i need to step up my game and start with making a few blogs of my own. Start small. Put some original content i wrote on them. Some advertisments. Later on move to buying my domain name and hosting and do it in a more serious way.
Either way. It felt good because honestly i thought the person might have just accepted my article by mistake or something and it will never see the light of day. Apparently i under-estimate myself.
